What a rewire actually involves
Rewiring replaces the old cabling running through your walls, roof and subfloor with modern, compliant cable, and usually brings your switchboard up to standard at the same time. A full rewire covers your power circuits, lighting circuits, and the mains and earthing that tie the whole house together.
Depending on the home, a rewire can include:
- New TPS cable to power points and lighting circuits
- A switchboard upgrade with modern safety switches (RCDs) and circuit breakers
